Endae Keralam, Ethra Sundaram

On the fourth of this month, i happened to watch the Malayalam news on the Asianet channel and believe me, i was shocked.
The political party and the party workers belonging to the K Karunakaran faction, was holding a meeting. Suddenly the party workers of the party that K Muralidharan belongs to, barged in and started assaulting everyone and every thing in sight. Humans, mikes, tube lights, chairs, tables. Even the press and cameras were not spared. Father Karunakaran, a veteran Congress man, and son Muralidharan also belonging to the Congress party, and the battle never stops.
I was shocked to see a woman clad in a white sari, along with a group of men, beating up a youth from the other party.
Father and son against each other politically and the end result is that it puts the political ideologies to shame. Gods Own Country, indeed !!!!!!!!!!

Politicians are the same no matter which place they belong to, Anooja! It's a pity that the biggest scoundrels are found in God's own country, what to do, the same god who created man also created the devil. BUt, comparing to the evilest of god's creations, first comes the Indian Politician, second comes the devil.

Maybe, you might see the same situation in Tamilnadu a few months from now.

I never realized that India was known as God's own country, but I see on wikipedia that they use the slogan for tourism. New Zealand & Rhodesia have also been associated with the term. Interesting!

Aswin : Yes politicians are the same where ever..

Jewels : I belog to a state of India called Kerala, and for tourism, they have called it "God's Own Country ". We live in a city called Chennai , in another state called Tamilnadu.

Kerala as such is a very beautiful place... totally green, unlike most of India.
A lot of money for the state comes in from tourism. it is the only stste in India that is 100% literate.
